Play Factore pulled out all the stops to delight almost 80 Young Carers and their families by hosting a fabulous Christmas party as part of a Twelve days of Christmas campaign supporting children across Manchester.
The Young Carers enjoyed the opportunity to just be a child enjoying the slides, playing, and having fun. They each enjoyed fantastic party food, followed by dancing, games and each child received a special present
Play Factore / ASIYA said: “Trafford Carers Centre does amazing work supporting young carers in Trafford. We are delighted to be able to give the children a special treat and also hopefully raise awareness of the amazing work they do. They deserve to be celebrated especially at this time of year.”
Over the past 21 years, Trafford Carers Centre has supported over 10,000 carers in the area. The Charity offers a lifeline to carers aged six to 96 with regular well-being activities, groups, and a specialised helpline and counselling sessions.
Over Christmas, more than 23,000 Carers in Trafford will be trying to cope with the effects of caring for a family member.
The Charity’s fundraising manager, Joanne Fowler said: “It’s fantastic to be able to treat some of our young carers. We would like to thank everyone at Play Factore for this wonderful experience.
“Each and every one of them deserve it for the work they do at home.
“We feel privileged to have helped touch the lives of so many and hope to continue to do so.”
Christmas is particularly stressful for unpaid carers dealing with illness, low household income and many Carers can struggle to cope. Christmas often brings back memories of happier times and can make people feel very isolated and alone; often it is very hard to involve the person that they care for in family celebrations. For many carers it is at this time when they reach a crisis point and they will need even more support.
At the carers centre we offer a lifeline to carers, aged 6-96 with regular well-being activities, groups, and our specialised Helpline manned by our case working team. With on average 70 counselling sessions accessed each month, the support we offer is invaluable to carers, we understand their needs.
As the UK’s leading family entertainment arena, Play Factore are proud to support local and national Charities throughout the year. We are able to see on a daily basis the joy that children get when visiting our unique experience. Whether that is from being able to spend time together playing with their families or racing their friends down our Big Red Slide. Play Factore know that not every child is able to enjoy being a child and carefree, we are planning to change that for as many children as possible this Christmas.
Play Factore believe that all children should spend Christmas with a smile on their face. Unfortunately this is not the case for many Children who will spend this Christmas staying in temporary accommodation, caring for members of their families or battling illness. Play Factore are committed to giving all children the opportunity to create everlasting memoires.
Play Factores Twelve Days of Christmas will support the charities Children and Families around Manchester with an early Christmas gift. During the Twelve Days we will be providing local charities the ability to bring children, families and their staff to Play Factore to enjoy a range of treats free of charge at this special time of year. It was important to Play Factore to bring a wide range of charities from all over the Manchester area to enjoy time with us. Our Twelve Days of Christmas charities have been carefully selected to allow us to help provide as many children over Christmas with wonderful happy memories as possible.
We hope this is the start of a wonderfully long Christmas tradition.
